A great deal of your time (and thousands of pounds of your money) will be spent on selecting a venue, choosing a dress, tasting and selecting menus and meeting florists, photographers and other suppliers, but will you take the same care over your choice of entertainment?

The evening party will be the longest part of your big day and the only part attended by many of your guests. It is vital that you know exactly who you are booking, what music is available and the standard of service you are being offered. You do not want your wedding remembered for all the wrong reasons, which it will be if you book a poor disco.

This is why I offer to meet you, demonstrate equipment and discuss your requirements in detail. You should ask yourself why some discos are always at wedding fairs touting for new business. Apart from an occasional web enquiry, all my bookings come from personal recommendations, referrals or repeat business.

If you have young guests attending I will be pleased to entertain them while you greet your evening guests. Children will be enchanted by the animals drawn by my animated lasers. They love chasing my disco lights round the floor which conveniently burns off a bit of excess energy! (Photograph courtesy of David J Fraser)

If you would like bouquet throwing and a garter toss you can be relaxed in the knowledge that I will arrange everything for you. I will ensure that your photographer and videographer are always in the right position to capture all your special moments.  I will also organise evening cake cutting and the first dance before getting down to the serious business of entertaining your guests with fabulous music from my amazing CD collection.

I have a stunning variety of lighting effects. Just three or four similar lights flickering feebly in front of a disco are no use at all. As well as mood lighting throughout your venue, forming part of a comprehensive wedding package, I offer such effects as lasers, ultra violet lighting and a variety of sophisticated projected effects. These combine to create a party atmosphere with a real wow factor.

Inferior discos may not have such effects, while others only offer them at a substantial extra cost to you. Be especially wary if you are being offered a disco purely on the basis of price and glib sales talk. Do you really know who and what you are being offered?

Ask yourself; is the main concern to give you a top quality well managed evening or to send any DJ who will earn the agent or multi operator a commission? A £50  saving on a wedding costing over £10,000 simply does not make sense and could end up being an extremely expensive mistake!

If you are considering adding additional entertainment before, during or immediately after your wedding breakfast, my Links page lists some of the best people I have seen in various categories.

Please tell me what you are planning so I can advise you about possible pitfalls; a rat pack singer who only has room to sing from a doorway or a chocolate fountain that can only set up where you have put your wedding cake for example.

Banqueting sales staff, particularly in hotels, have often never seen a wedding breakfast taking place. They usually do not have the slightest idea about the needs of entertainers where space and positioning are critical.

My extensive knowledge and experience makes me the ideal person to advise you. It is not easy to anticipate problems when you are booking entertainment for the first time.
